Each visit is a secure video appointment with a board-certified nurse practitioner and includes your evaluation, treatment plan, and prescription when medically appropriate. The same prices apply whether you are a new patient, transferring from another provider, or returning for a refill visit.

When Is the $199 Care Package Worth It?

The Care Package may be the better value if you:

  • are starting or restarting Suboxone and need check-ins during the first days of treatment
  • need dose adjustments
  • need extra support with cravings or withdrawal symptoms
  • are switching to a buprenorphine injection (Sublocade or Brixadi), or need post-injection follow-up

You can start with a $99 visit and upgrade within 7 days by paying the remaining $100. Your first visit counts as one of the 4 included visits, and the 30-day period starts on the date of that first visit. Unused visits expire after 30 days and cannot be rolled over or refunded.

How Much Does the Medication Cost?

Medication is billed by your pharmacy, not by Acorn TeleMAT. What you pay depends on your insurance, dose, the form of the medication, and the pharmacy you choose. Generic buprenorphine/naloxone tablets or films are usually much less expensive than brand-name Suboxone.

What Is the Total Monthly Cost Without Insurance?

For many stable self-pay patients on a once-daily generic dose, one $99 monthly visit plus a generic prescription filled with a coupon may total roughly $130 per month. Your actual cost depends on your dose, how often you need to be seen, lab work, and pharmacy prices. Starting treatment or changing doses often requires more frequent visits, which is what the $199 Care Package is designed for.

Does Insurance Cover Suboxone Treatment?

Acorn TeleMAT works with select insurance plans, and coverage varies by plan. Insurance plans handle medical visits and prescriptions separately, so check both your medical and pharmacy benefits. Call 714-922-0017 before your appointment to verify coverage.

If you have a high-deductible plan and would pay the full visit cost anyway, self-pay may cost less. Self-pay visits are not billed to your insurance, and self-pay availability may vary by insurance plan.
